John Finnell, ND

Naturopathic physician, epidemiologist, educator, and whole-health leader whose work stretches from environmental engineering to public-health service and clinical scholarship.

Interdisciplinary Formation

From chemistry and environmental engineering to naturopathic medicine and epidemiology

Dr. Finnell’s training spans chemistry, environmental engineering and sustainable infrastructure, naturopathic and Chinese medicine, public health, and epidemiology.

Before entering naturopathic medicine, he worked with Region 6 of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and served as a first responder for the Columbia Space Shuttle disaster.

Research and Scholarship

Clinical science and integrative-health research support

Dr. Finnell received NIH training and funding through the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health and currently holds research appointments in VA settings as well as at Bastyr University.

His work reflects an uncommon bridge between naturopathic medicine, whole-health systems, and formal research environments.

Sense of Place

Returning naturopathic medicine to Texas

Dr. Finnell always planned to return to Texas to bring naturopathic medicine back home.
